Founder of the UKLSA, Fatos Selita, awarded Freedom of the City of London

We are delighted that today, on 29 April 2010, our founder has obtained the Freedom of the City of London.

Fatos has dedicated hundreds of hours of pro bono work towards more equal societies (gender equality, financial equality, background equality) and towards improving access to justice, the legal profession and to career opportunities.

The Freedom of the City is a tradition dating back to 10th century, and a prestigious award, also given to several world leaders, and we hope that this will help with creating further opportunities for law students, law graduates and junior lawyers from across backgrounds.
