How We Work
The elected members of the Law Society/Organisation at each institution either elects or appoints someone to act as liaison between the Law Society and UKLSA. Often, the Law Society President acts as the representative of their students to UKLSA. Any concerns by students at a particular institution may be brought to UKLSA by their liaison. Similarly, UKLSA will contact liaisons directly regarding news and upcoming events. These liaisons will also vote to elect the UKLSA Working Committee. The Committee is composed of elected liaisons, and its role is to help organise and promote UKLSA goals. There are 5 positions on the Working Committee: President, Academic and Publications Coordinator, Inter-Institutional Coordinator, Conferences and Events Coordinator and Careers Coordinator. Working Committee members encourage, represent and unite individual liaisons in each law school. The President acts as a representative of law students across the UK, giving the student body a national voice and using that voice to push for change that we, as students, want to see.
